Description:
The CD4028B series offers versatile decoding capabilities, functioning as both BCD-to-decimal and binary-to-octal decoders. These devices feature input buffering for all four inputs, decoding logic, and 10 buffered outputs. The CD4028B is capable of decoding a 4-bit BCD code (inputs A to D) into one of the 10 decimal outputs, while a 3-bit binary code (inputs A to C) can be decoded into octal outputs (0 to 7) when input D is set to "0." This high-performance decoder series is ideal for applications requiring high drive capability and robust DC and dynamic performance, particularly where high fan-out is necessary.
The CD4028B is available in various package types, making it highly adaptable for different system designs and applications.
Key Features:
BCD-to-decimal and binary-to-octal decoding functionality
High drive capability for both DC and dynamic performance
Positive logic configuration, where selected outputs go high
Medium-speed performance: tPHL and tPLH typically 80 ns at VDD = 10 V
Balanced and standardized output characteristics
Low input current: Maximum 1 µA at 18 V over the full temperature range; 100 nA at 18 V at 25°C
Noise Margins:
1 V at VDD = 5 V
2 V at VDD = 10 V
2.5 V at VDD = 15 V
Operates at supply voltages of 5 V, 10 V, and 15 V
