Description:
The MQ6 Gas Sensor is a Metal Oxide Semiconductor (MOS) type gas sensor primarily designed to detect LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) and Butane gas concentrations in the air. The sensor contains a sensing element made from an aluminum-oxide-based ceramic, coated with tin dioxide, and enclosed in a stainless-steel mesh. When gas comes into contact with the sensing element, its resistivity changes, and this change is measured to determine the concentration of gases present. The sensor is suitable for detecting gas leaks in homes, kitchens, hotels, restaurants, and other places where LPG or Butane is used. The MQ6 can help prevent potential hazards by detecting leaks before they lead to accidents.
Features:
Operating Voltage: +5V
Can detect LPG and Butane gas
Analog Output Voltage: 0V to 5V
Digital Output Voltage: 0V or 5V (TTL Logic)
Digital pin sensitivity adjustable using a potentiometer
Can be used as both a Digital or Analog sensor
Preheat duration of 20 seconds
Application:
Gas leak detection in homes, restaurants, and places with LPG or Butane usage
Suitable for use in CNG-powered automobiles
Ideal for environments where cooking or heating with LPG is common
