The MQ5 Gas Sensor is designed for gas leakage detection and is suitable for both home and industrial equipment, specifically for detecting LPG, natural gas, and coal gas. The sensor uses SnO2 (tin dioxide) as the sensitive material, which has lower conductivity in clean air. When combustible gases like LPG or natural gas are present in the air, the sensor's conductivity increases in proportion to the gas concentration. This change in conductivity can be measured, and the corresponding gas concentration can be determined.
