Description:
The MQ-4 gas sensor utilizes SnO2 as the sensitive material, which has lower conductivity in clean air. As the target combustible gases (such as methane, propane, and butane) are detected, the sensor's conductivity increases, with the concentration of the gas directly influencing the conductivity. This change in conductivity is then measured and converted into an output signal that corresponds to the gas concentration.

The MQ-4 gas sensor is highly sensitive to methane, but it can also detect other combustible gases, including propane and butane. The sensor is cost-effective and has a wide range of applications, particularly in detecting domestic gas leaks, industrial combustible gas, and portable gas detection systems.
