Description:

The 7486 is a Quad 2-Input XOR Gate IC containing four independent XOR gates, each with two inputs. An XOR (exclusive OR) gate outputs a high (logic 1) when the number of high inputs is odd. In the case of the 7486, it provides an output of logic 1 when one (and only one) of the inputs is high. If both inputs are the same (both high or both low), the output is logic 0.

This IC is part of the 7400 TTL logic family and is commonly used in applications that require logical comparisons, such as in arithmetic circuits, parity generators, and error detection.
