Description:

The LM317 is a monolithic integrated circuit designed for use as a positive adjustable voltage regulator. Available in a TO-220 package, the LM317 can supply more than 1.5A of load current with an adjustable output voltage range of 1.2V to 37V. This makes it an excellent choice for applications requiring flexible and stable power supply solutions.

The output voltage is easily selected using a resistive divider, simplifying the design process and eliminating the need to stock multiple fixed regulators. The LM317 also features a complete set of protections, including current limiting, thermal shutdown, and Safe Operating Area (SOA) control, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
